January 25th- Photography Hike Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park.12:00-3:00. Meet Ranger Josh at the Pilot Knob Interpretive Center for a 2 mile round trip hike the lake. Follow a trail system until you get to the bottom of the ridge, and then go off trail to the lake. Multiple opportunities along the route for nature and wildlife photographs, including an Eagles nest along the route. Hike back to the museum where popcorn and coffee will be available. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring water and your camera! A $5.00 charge per person is the cost for the hike. For more information call the park office at 731-593-6445.
March 21st-Miss Bluegrass Fiddlers and Bluegrass Jamboree Pageant at Holladay School. Beauty pageant open to all girls ages 0-21. The 16-21 year age group winner will pre-qualify to participate in the Humboldt Strawberry Festival. For more information call Holladay School at 731-584-6487.
April 4th- Astronomy Day at Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park. The 1st Saturday in April (in the event of falling on Easter weekend, this event shifts to the 2nd Saturday in April). Bernard Seyfert Astronomical Society will be on site with a variety of observational equipment and a wealth of knowledge to help us understand the mysteries of the night sky. April 16th & 17th- Old time Bluegrass and Fiddler's Jamboree. Held annually the 3rd week in April. Festivities include a beauty pageant, parade, street dance, variety shows, and Bluegrass and Fiddlers' competitions. Located at Holladay School. For more information please call 731-584-2217.
May 16th- Storytelling Event Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park. Every third Saturday in May, storytellers gather around the campfire across from Happy Hollow Campground at the ball field to share stories and tall tales. June 1st - Fishing Rodeo at Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park
The first week of June annually at Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park - Eva Beach Day Use Area! This event is held coinciding with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
June 6th- National Trails Day- The first Saturday of June Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park joins with all the Tennessee State Parks in this American Hiking Society's celebration weekend. Outdoor enthusiasts participate in educational exhibits , trail dedications. gear demonstration, instructional workshops and trail projects. June 12th - 14th- Highway 70 Annual Yard Sale
This gigantic Yard Sale is held the 2nd weekend in June. It runs from Memphis to Nashville via Highway 70.

July 4th- Fireworks Extravaganza Show at Birdsong Marina

August 7th- Annual Duck Blind Drawing
Held the first Saturday in August at the Big Sandy City Park! This event is held by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for West TN. Registration kicks off at 7AM. The Blind Drawing begins at 10AM. There are Vendors, Food, Games and much more!
September 4th & 5th- Bargain Highway
